Hi guys and gals,

This is probably more of an NT/Outlook question but it involves Exchange as
well.

I administer 2 separate networks. Both run NT  with a single Exchange server
5.5 for each site. Using Outlook 2000 as clients.

On Network 1, when a new NT profile is created on a PC that has been used
before to communicate with our single Exchange Server you can double click
the Outlook Icon and it connects to the server automatically using the alias
you have set up in xadmin for the user.

On Network 2, if a new profile is created on a machine that has been
previously used to access email via outlook (like on Network 1) it always
takes you through the set-up process again eg. type in the name of the
exchange server etc.

Does MAPI leave a route to the exchange server somewhere in the NT registry
so it looks to the name of the server by default (like in Network 1)? If so,
it is obvious that Network 2 is missing this on its machines. 

Can someone shed any light on this or point me in the right direction to an
article on it?

I would like to run a registry setting so that users on Network 2 can simply
click on the outlook icon and be automatically set up, instead of having me
to come down and click on 'Microsoft exchange server->servername' etc.

I have searched TechNet and Slipstick.com to no avail.

Any help would be most appreciated.
