The only way I've found to accomplish this is to make a separate mailbox for each address you want to send from. Since you probably don't want these extra identities littering up your GAL, you can put them in your Contacts folder, and then hide them. This allows you to enter the alternate address in the From field and have it resolve correctly.
For viewing mail coming into the alternate identity, you then have the choice of having Outlook open the alternate mailbox directly, or setting up the normal address as an alternate recipient within the alternate identity mailbox. -Peter -----Original Message----- From: Michael Anderson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, January 18, 2002 16:40 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Multiple Identities Hello, What is the easiest way to have multiple identities, when composing new e-mail messages - and have them come from a specific address. When using Outlook 2000 for Internet only, it's not too bad - you just have multiple accounts setup - then before sending the e-mail, you select which identity you want before you send the message. I know receiving e-mails is a piece of cake - you just add an SMTP address for each domain you want to support. Then is all gets routed to that person's singular mailbox. BUT, sending mail is a little different correct, when using Outlook 2000 with only the Exchange option (and no Internet support)? Could you all shed come light on this subject? Thanks, Mike _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ______________________________________________ This message is private or privileged.
