So that early adopter site would maintain an ADC between their new Exchange 2000 administrative group and that Exchange 5.5 server. Each side can control only their own mailboxes (which is fine). One domain in one country is beginning planning for a migration to AD and E2k, anticipating but not requiring the other countries to do the same, so there will be placeholders in the design for them. It appears we need AD connection agreements with each site, but it doesn't appear that this can run over smtp. Without that, am I correct in thinking that AD will see only the 5.5 users from sites with an ADC? And as we migrate to E2k, the outlook clients on will use AD as the directory, rather than the 5.5 DS? Is there a way around without requiring opening the VPN?
