'Just talking from experience. I ran into a situation where 3GB was moved off of a db, then it was taken offline to compact...barely any space was recovered. Remounted it, let online defrag run, took it offline again and compacted it - got the 3GB back. This was an E2K server.(compaction done on clients request). So...
