Be prepared to lose some mail. You may also need to run isinteg to fix the pointers in the store as well. If you go this route, I would exmerge all of the data out once the store is running, wipe the store out and then exmerge everyones mail back in. You will lose single instance storage when doing this, but at least you will know your database is in good shape. My 2 cents. The error message that comes up is - "Error Database is in inconsistent state initializing the microsft Exchange Server Information Store Database". We are running exchange 5.5 enterprise sp3. The following are the error messages straight from the app log files: Event ID: 1120 Source: MS ExchangeIS Error Database is in inconsistent state initializing the Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store database. Event ID: 5000 Source: MS ExchangeIS Unable to initialize the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service. Error Database is in inconsistent state. This happened because one of the exchange admins had run eseutil and then isinteg to check and fix integrity errors in the dbs. Now he had thought that he had satisfactorily backed up the databases. However it turned out to everyones dismay that the backup media is unreadable and we are facing the above problem. Is there any way we can return the database to a consistent state from this point on? Somehow? The particular admin who ran the procedure is not here at the moment so I am trying to work from the above details. I am looking forward to suggestions. BTW I have had a read of the following articles - Q185577, Q272570, Q147244 - and all of these seem to suggest some form of eseutil /r, eseutil /p followed by isinteg -fix. I will appreciate some advice. regards Vanish Pattni ITC Services _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The information contained in this email message is privileged and confidential information intended only for the use of the individual or entity to whom it is addressed.
