I figure I might as well weigh in on this. I will admit to not having played with Entourage yet, but the principles should be the same.
1) Check your TCPIP setup on the Mac and make sure it is correct. 2) Check to make sure you are using TCPIP and not some other protocol. TO the best of my knowledge 9.2 doesn't use Appletalk anymore, but I could be wrong. Check it out anyway. 3) Can you ping the Exchange server from the Mac? If so then you are halfway home and I would go with Step #1 using the FQDN for the Exchange server. 4) I have always had better success using a HOSTS file on the Mac workstation as long as I was using TCPIP as my transport. 5) When you setup Entourage can your resolve your name using Check Name (if Entourage has this - they should).
