Me I hang a SMTP scanner(Insert your favorite solution here)as the first entry point before my Exchange box. ALL....!!! mail first goes through the SMTP scanner. then it goes to the exchange box which also has virus/content scanning(insert you favorite program here).
I have the SMTP scanner also do attachment stripping and I have the exchange box's AV do attachment stripping. Thus for me so far even when there is a new virus out there and no definitions from the AV supplier 99% of the time the deadly attachment is stripped....thus no infection. Also NOTE: I don't allow other mail clients on user workstations..no IEexpress...etc. NO web e-mail checking..no nothing like that..harsh? maybe..virus free?
