Connecting Exchange server service and POP3 to the same mailbox in one
profile is always going to cause problems and will drive the server
loop-crazy

Subject: POP3 mail and Exchange service same profile

Recently I have some customers receive multiple copies of messages that
appeared to be looping, tracking the problem to pop accounts that are
configured along with the Exchange service in the same profile. The users
claim that this configuration had been in place for a while with no
issues. I removed the internet mail service from users profile and have
tested adding a internet mail service to my profile and I received
multiple copies of message also. These users also complained that the
message were old copies and should have been removed from their pop
server. Currently I have instructed these users to not use their pop
accounts and we may stop allowing POP out of our network but I would like
to understand how this happened. Anyone seen this?
