Running W2K SP2 for AD with Ex.5.5 SP 4 Running under NT 4.0 Sp 5 - No ADC
at this time. I have an exchange server
that connects to a subdomain via a site connector (they are running nt 4.0
PDC with Ex.5.5).. They are actually a dept. made up
of HR, Finacnce, etc. that was kept seperate. One way trust - we trust
them. Our domain is xxx.org and they are aaaa.xxx.org.
Our goal is to bring this dept. under the top domain as a seperate OU so
their admins can still have rights to control
resourses, etc. Their Sam will merge into our AD. Their Mailbox's will
merge into our exchange site (which at that time
will be E2K, ADC, etc.) ..
Now, questions: Best solution to getting both sides to W2K & E2K
1. Complete my exchange migration to E2K first (with site connector to
their ex.5.5)... should still leave me in mixed mode...
2. Have them upgrade to W2K on their PDC and Ex.5.5 to E2K them merge them
into my side, or
can I merge them into my AD as NT4.0 and Ex. 5.5 clients ... Nt 4.0
with migration tool for SAM and move mailbox for
ex.5.5. mailbox's...
Hope I haven't cunfused the issue by too much info - or perhaps, not enough
info..
