Hi,

I have the following issue, maybe someone can give me some assistance:

Existing mail server: Exchange 5.5. It is a pop3 server and is in a cage
at ISP colocation. It is in a c-class private subnet 10.x.y.z. It is also
accessable by our remote users thru public IP / Firewall NAT.

New Exchange server: Exchange 2000 in a 2000 corporate domain in a c-class
private subnet 192.a.b.c. in the server room located in our office. There
is a secure VPN tunnel betwenn both systems

domain name: company.com

We would like to keep the exchange 5.5 pop3 mail server and use it as
inbound mail server. That means the exchange 2000 server will be accessable
externally only through the pop3 Exchange 5.5.

We would like to migrate only our local users mailboxes gradually from
Exchange 5.5 to
Exchange 2000, but keep the remote users on Exchange5.5 to be able to pop in
their mail. Both mail systems should co-exist together.

How can we realize this?

Sean
