Like Stephen said, I wouldn't go the UPROMOTE route. Instead, build a windows 2000 member server in the NT 4 domain and install Exchange 5.5 , make it the second server in the site. Use the Ed Crowley move server method and then follow the steps to remove the first server from the site.
