And that product sucks!!! I just talked with their tech yesterday about several questions I have, and even they admit that since it's a version 1.0 product, there are lots of bugs to be worked out. I wouldn't recommend it for production use any time soon...

This is only good for E2K though, and they have not announced any plans to port it to 5.5 hth, Bob Sadler City of Leawood, KS, USA Internet/WAN Specialist 913-339-6700 X194 [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -----Original Message----- From: Soysal, Serdar [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, May 21, 2002 9:55 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Virus/Spam filtering The original question (that was violently snipped) asked about both content and virus scanning (hence the subject line "Virus/Spam filtering"). It is true that TrendMicro is very good on the virus scanning side, its eManager plug-in is just a mediocre content filter. For virus scanning, Sybari's Antigen is just as good. You can't go wrong with either product. I believe Antigen has content filtering now as well, but I haven't tested it yet. For content filtering all of the three below are decent: - MIMESweeper: they are the leader in this field. Very strong product. - Praetor: good/cheaper alternative to MIMESweeper. The next version will be based on Transport Event Sinks which they claim gives them a big performance boost. The downside is it will require Win2K - MMS from Tumbleweed Communications: they are MIMESweeper's top competitor and this is the only product that has a comparable feature set AFAIK. However, their support is pretty much non-existent Serdar Soysal -----Original Message----- From: randomfire [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Sunday, May 19, 2002 12:22 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Re: Virus/Spam filtering Trendmicro's products are the best out there for exchange. I absolutely suggest you go with their product... _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
