If you're going to migrate calendar you might as well migrate mail. Outlook requires messages (meaning e-mail) to process calendar meeting requests.
1. No. 2. SMTP, I presume. 3. Create contacts for all Post.Office users, let Exchange handle all routing. Aloha all, We have a system that has about 50 PCs and 50 Sun boxes. We currently use Post.Office as out email server. We have Win2k Active Directory as our PC OS. The PC users use Lookout 2000. I would like to convert to Exchange 2000 for shared calendar and shared contacts *first*. I would like to co-exist with Post.Office for email for a while (couple of months). Eventually, I would like to convert to Exchange for our email as well. I would like to retain our current email addresses throughout this whole process. That's the setup. Here's the questions: 1. During the co-existing period, do I need to convert PSTs to shared stores? 2. What does Exchange use as a co-existence gateway for Post.Office (I can't find any info on that). 3. Will the co-existence require me to have separate email addresses - 1 for Exchange and 1 for Post.Office? If so, how difficult is it going to be to switch the Exchange addresses to the old Post.Office addresses when the time comes to drop Post.Office? I hope these questions aren't too vague. I tried to look up these answers and just can't seem to find any scenarios for such a small migration.
