You can't argue with lawyers unless you have standing. The only way to win this battle is to get your JD degree and pass the bar. Even then, you won't win unless your JD comes from a "better" school than your lawyer's, unless you become a recognized authority on the subject.
It seems to me that corporate lawyers spend a great deal of time minimizing risks that have an extremely low probability of causing damage. I've often wondered if most corporations wouldn't be better off just firing all the lawyers and using some of the money to buy an insurance policy to cover such things.
