Sorry to revisit this.
In light of my last post 'IMS Costs'(thanks for all the help btw) I setup a Dev Exchange Server and put IMS on it and joined it to my site. I have told the server to 'Accept Connections: Authenticated" and gave it a cost of 100. Then I plug in a machine outside my firewall and use outlook to SMTP/pop in with authentication. I can send email to people in the company. I cant send email to people on the internet, comes back 550 relay denied? Is there a way around this? I need to keep the relay up but if I cant send email to internet addresses its pointless. I must be missing something somewhere.
