If you ran your SMTP Connector on a separate box, you wouldn't have had downtime. I hope you forward the offending message to PSS so they can fix the bug if there is one.

Earlier today, our Exchange Server (5.5.2650.21) began disallowing all traffic on port 25. First, I checked the error logs...no errors! Then I shut down all the services and restarted them... port 25 still wouldn't open.... Finally, the solution was found as a bad email message (SPAM no less) in \imcdata\out. I moved (archived) this message into a ..\bad folder and reset the imc. The mail began flowing again.... I was happy again. It only took 15 minutes to solve the problem but I was hoping for 2 years in a row of ZERO downtime. Now, I can no longer claim this. #$*! I'm pissed off because I thought MS fixed this problem, at least 2 service packs ago (or 3 years ago)?
