I have used Antigen extensively in the past and never had Outlook installed
on the Exch Server. Is this something new?

Subject: anti virus package for 5.5

exchange 5.5 sp4, nt4 sp6a multiple server environment

my company is looking for a new anti-virus product. our contract with
Norton is up and we have issues with it (one day the corp. edition is
running, the next day it is disabled and a reboot will not fix. a
complete uninstall and the re-install is needed, some servers it will not
load at all, etc..).

looking at other exchange aware packages, (sybari, panda etc) they want
the outlook clinet installed on the exchange server for e-mail
notifications. Norton sent e-mail notifications, and there are no outlook
clients on any of the servers, to the sender/reciever stating that there
was a virus in the message and it was deleted.

are there any av programs that will send e-mail notifications without the
outlook client installed?? Is anyone using Sybari Antigen, sending
e-mail notifications without the outlook client installed??

thanks
Jon
