I might have found a work around for this. I will keep you posted if it all
works out.

There is a White Paper on how to change the Service Account. Even if you
delete the NT account. The catch is, you need to make sure there is a User
with Admin permission at the Org, Site and configuration Level. If there
isn't then you have two options left which where both pointed out in the
below Knowledge Base sent to me by Tom.
