Eric, I was up sh#$ creek at that point, I did delete the exchange service account from the User Manager. I also had no good backup of the PDC's SAM File.
The situation got worst before it got better but there is too much involved to briefly state it hear. Whatever the case Tomorrow Night I will know for sure. That is when I will be able to test this new scenario out. What I found was as long as you have a user account in Exchange Admin that has Admin permission in the three levels, ORG/SITE/Configuration you can change the Exchange Service Account. Luckily there was a user account with admin permissions. With the help of a Consultant (of course I got a consultant) he walked me through what needs to be done. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best in this situation. He has assured me it should work out fine... We will soon find out, when that time comes I will let you guys know. I'm assuming your on a NT domain and by your email that you delete the 'Exchange Service Account' from user manager. I'm not savy enough to know if you could just reassign the services to another user or not, but I'd wager a NO on that one. -----Original Message----- From: Hale, Brian [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, August 08, 2002 1:11 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: SOS - Serious Importance: High I need some serious advice, I totalled F**'d up and I need to know if this can be salvage. I have a exchange server running 5.5 on a NT4 box. What happened was a User account was deleted. It just so happened to be the master account that takes care of all exchange duties. The Service Account. Luckily there was another active account that had similar permissions as the SA account. However I know its not the same. Can anyone let me know what I need to do to get this rectified. I know once the service does a restart or the machine does a reboot I am SOL.
