Please help a duffer who's trying to set up a small network.

I've got Windows 2000 server running - local domain working fine.
Exchange 2000 server running - local intranet mail working fine.
Server connected to internet via dial-up connection and ISA 2000.

Outlook 2000 clients - intranet mail working, or "private" internet e-mail
working.

Question:
What do I have to do to let an Outlook 2000 client, without an internet
e-mail service configured, send internet e-mail through the Exchange server?
I've tried fiddling with the various connector & virtual server options and
so far I'm not accomplishing anything but increased frustration. I do have
a local DNS server configured (every "server" is running on the same
machine). Internet browsing is working fine as well.

Please pretend I'm a moron (I sure feel like one at this point) and give me
a step-by-step.
