Basically the scenario is this - a big hosting company has aquired a bunch of other 
hosting companies. They all have different mail systems: UNIX-based, Linux-based, 
Imail, Exchange, etc. They are trying to find a homogeneous e-mail solution that would 
allow to host huge numbers of users in a cost effective manner.

I am hosting a lot of Exchange customers in a shared environment as well as dedicated 
and would not mind to continue doing so. Exchange seems to be just fine for that. 
Although Exchange requires additional expenses on active directory, provisioning, 
maintenance. The sales pitch from MiraPoint is that you just stick the box in the rack 
and it is ready to go. Although it sounds too good to be true.

Mirapoint has a solid product offering. I am not going to get into pros
and cons of it versus Exchange, I'd have to know much more about your
environment to offer anything meaningful.

The concerns that I would have is just exactly what business benefits you
would receive by implementing Mirapoint versus Exchange. Email migrations
are not fun things to perform for most organizations and they typically
have a considerable impact upon end users. End users hate change when it
comes to their messaging systems. Anyone pitching Mirapoint or any other
email product to me as a replacement for Exchange (or any other messaging
product currently implemented) would have to show me some pretty concrete
advantages before I would even consider it.
