Seriously, if you've tried something and it didn't work then you should
include that information so those trying to help you don't cover old
ground. It keeps you from being offended because you might think you're
being patronized and it saves those who might want to respond to your
post time in researching and eliminating possible causes. More work for
you certainly, but it helps you to properly phrase your question and
prevents those who might respond from listing every possible cause of
the problem you're seeing.
