I am moving exchange 2k to a new server and am using the procedures found at http://www.swinc.com/resource/e2kfaq_appxa.htm and I guessed based on Ed Crowley's instructions for moving exch 5.5. Anyway, I'm on step 7 which says "Create new mailbox stores and public folder stores on the new server to match the old server (This is not a requirement per se, you might instead choose a different configuration to take advantage of new and improved hardware)." However, I look in the Exchange Manager and do not find my new server. I only see the old server which is still in production. Any explanation why I don't see my new server?
This new server has AD installed and is in the same tree as the old server. In the interest of full disclosure, the old server is Small Business Server 2000 and my attempt is to install the new server as Win2k Adv Server and Exch2k. Eventually, the old SBS will go away.
