I was not doing HTTPS, was not being directed to the secure area, and did not have the lock displayed. I fixed that using the management console. Still no joy. Also, notice that none of these fixes is relevant to IMAP clients, which are also not being able to change the password. I appreciate your help though, this too gets me a little closer to the fix.
