then do yourself a favor get a good Panafax. But note these are industrial/business machines and are not cheap. say like 850 and up..but they never die... you get what you pay for...
You better research this a bit more. Cause you not getting away with anything cheap if you want it reliable. First you will need a fax card (forget the modem thing , it does not work reliably..I wont get into the tech about it all) but a Brooktrout analog 2 channel cheapest is like 500.00 then from there If your really good with code you could wrtie something up..you could do the open soft of the fax software that run's on unix (i forget the name, check a linux mag art's about 6 month ago). Reliability cost money, for my 100 some odd users it paid off all 20K of it(that's lot of hardware and all faxiantion softlic..etc...) bill -----Original Message----- From: Aaron Brasslett [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, January 31, 2003 12:22 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Fax to SMTP Appliance I've got about 100 users. We need to replace our incoming fax machine. I'll have a hard time justify much more than the cost of a new fax. $1000 would be my limit. We'd be wasting most of the features. Aaron -----Original Message----- From: Joshua R. I am interested in finding a simple and inexpensive way to forward faxes to an email address on my Exchange 5.5 server. We are not interested in allowing folk to fax from their PC. Ideally, I would like to find an appliance that could do this for us... Receive a fax and forward it to a single email address. If anyone has ever seen such a device or you have any other suggestions, please let me know. TIA, Aaron _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
