I could try that, but that doesn't tell what went wrong when Exchange sent the message. There are a number of ways I can send it (HELO VS EHLO just for example). But I'm not interested in what happened when I send the message, more what happened when Exchange sent it. I take it this information isn't stored anywhere?
The email address that's giving me problems is a listserv on sourceforge.net. The list remains active, so I have a strong feeling it's a problem on my end. I've tried multiple messages, and have had success sending to this list in the past, so I have a feeling (hope) that this is a transitory error. However, I really don't like not knowing what happened.
