I've seen the same thing on 2 boxes, one production and one test. I don't
think it's worm/blaster related, as the test box is on that I recently built
on an isolated network, with no box on that network having ever been on a
live segment. It's not running Exchange, either. The only "fix" that I've
found on the test box was to clear out the Application log and then reboot.

Subject: Event Log Issue

I have a W2K server, fully patched, Exchange 5.5 fully patched, acting as a
bridgehead server. This server has been running for over 3 years without any
issues. Within the last 2 weeks, when I check the application log, it will
not display. The log has reached it's size limit, but is set to overwrite as
needed. The other logs, Security and System are fine. This might not be
Exchange realted, but has any seen this before?

I have tried decreasing the log size, increasing the log size, Overwrite
events older than ..., etc. nothing seems to help.

Only this server, out of 7, and only in the last 2 weeks ... might this be
'worm/blaster' related?
