Subject: Duplicate SMTP address...

Exchange 5.5 SP4
Win2k, SP2
NT 4.0 Domain

Ok...I went into the Exchange Admin Console to create a new account.
After I had input all of this individual's data hit the "Apply" button,
it came back and told me, "This e-mail address already exists in this
organization,"

No big deal for now. I append a number to the end of the address and
put him in the system. This is where it gets weird.

I did a Directory Export and did two exports. First, I exported just
our site of 663 accounts. I exported mailboxes, Custom Recipients, and
DLs and told it to include any hidden objects. I also checked the box
for including subcontainers...although I'm not aware of any. I exported
the Obj-Class, Mode, Obj-Container, Display Name, Alias Name and E-mail
Addresses fields to the .csv file. However, when I went and searched
that file for the SMTP address in question, it found nothing.

So, I went back and did the same export for the entire
organization...still nothing.

What am I missing?

TIA,

Jim Blunt
