This might work....
</disclaimer>create a mail profile that points to the .ost file and the new mailbox - then work offline to open the ost without actually referencing the mailbox and export to a .pst, then import it back into the recreated mailbox
<disclaimer cont.>
..... but I've never tried it

THIS MESSAGE ORIGINATED ON THE INTERNET - Please read the detailed disclaimer below.
----------------------------------------------------------------------I've heard tell that it's possible to rename it with a .pst extension & open
it that way. I have never tried this & my memory might have degraded from a
long weekend in the sun, so if you do it, make a copy of the file first and
do it at your own risk.-----Original Message-----

one of our admins has nuked the mailbox of a user who was doing .ost
replication.
he re-created the mailbox....but since the user was using an ost..it simply
tried to replicate an
empty mailbox to the ost.i have a pre-new mailbox copy of the ost available.
any guidance at extracting the data from the ost ?
