Exchange caches permissions. It generally takes several hours for the
change in permissions to kick in.

Subject: Mailbox not accessible after changing primary account

Exchange 5.5 sp3 on Windows NT sp6a

Issue: I am configuring a user to choose between 2 accounts when Outlook
2000 starts up. I just changed the primary account of the 2nd mailbox to
that user so she can access it. When she tries to open it, she has no
permissions to do so. On other similar occasions we waited a day and we
were able to logon fine. Does Exchange or NT need time to synchronize or
something? If so, is there a way to force it? Any help would be
appreciated, thx.

Don
