I would add that you should not send distributions via BCC.  This isnt
what it was designed for, and could very easily be blocked by spam
filters - especially when used en masse. You should send an individual
message per each individual recipient.

I suggest you look into a product like Mail List King
(http://www.xequte.com/maillistking/), or GroupMail
(http://www.group-mail.com/).  It should be affordable for your
organization, and will go a long way to both managing your list and
doing things the right way.
