I've been trying to keep security groups and DLs segregated by OU and
naming convention, but see that many of my DLs have been automagically
converted to security groups.

I believe this is because they've been used to apply permissions on
things like PFs and resource booking for accounts for conference rooms
and such.

I believe this is by design, but don't know the implications of it.

Can anyone point to to a precis (or an opus, I'm not picky) on this
topic so I can better understand it? Is it futile to worry about this
kind of conversion?
