Bindu...........v sitting in India...can praise & enjoy the film for its excellent cinematography. One of my friends (whose younger brother is studying abroad) told me,his brother is very disturbed after watching this film,with his GORA friends.It is just a modern version of the West's view of a country,where slums have replaced snake charmers.The movie would have been much balanced,if atleast some positives are touched.It seems every scrap of dirt is picked up from every corner and piled up together to try and hit back at the growing might of India. Now muslims are branded as terrorists across the globe,just because of.only few fools.Do not feel insulted or distubed,if u hear from someone (in near future),an Indian was called......S.D......by GORAS.This movie is so great cos of its technical perfections,that it is bound to be seen and praised all around the globe . I am only afraid by the caricature,it makes out of India,in front of the whole world.Kya karoon,fir bhi dil hai hindustani..... If we are aware of our surroundings then we can learn the most tricky things in our growing years. The movie shows the reality…How many times you have seen truck loads of beggars being dropped at red lights????. Does India have so many people by birth…without limbs, eyes..etc. There is an obvious racket running as an organisations. Many films earlier have targeted this issue…but they went on to become documentaries… This film has become a household name…I hope some policy makers , people like you and me do something about it. Is this not true? What is true is true…and I think Vikas has written a beautiful book and the movie is an excellent adaptation. He is my husbands senior from IIT, and we know how tough it was for him to get a publisher for the book he wrote. The facts were gathered by him…not an American! How true the character of our police is potrayed in this film….. just because the participant is a poor man, he is given electric shocks/hung upside down!!!. A young girl being trained to become a pros..is it not a reality???The Gunda culture we have of Bhai log..is that not a reality?? Is the story of mirror & tyres of your car being stolen….an untrue news?? The bully culture, caste riots,poverty……...it is all very real. The films positives are in the takeaways that it is able to identify with 40% of Indian population which stays below the poverty line. So IP…do not worry..chill and enjoy the movie. I loved the movie!
