--- Comment #6 from Thaddeus H. Black <[email protected]> --- Jeremy: Understood. That all makes sense. I will do it. Because this is a heisenbounce and DNS records with a TTL may be involved in the tests (and also because, like you, I have many unrelated duties), it will likely take me a while to complete the indicated tests. I'll try at various times of day under various loads. We'll see what comes of the tests. Please allow two weeks. > does the client have the server configured by name or by IP? Name. > is tls required per. se. by the client? As Jasen has correctly surmised, tls had been required by the client only for purposes of authentication and authenticated relay, not for clear transmission over port 25. The result is that some of my emails were bouncing unencrypted on port 25 -- which is probably okay (my emails probably have no content the spy agencies want to read, anyway), but of course it wasn't right. But, yes, I fixed that. It just took me a lot longer than it took Jasen to figure that out. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. -- ## List details at https://lists.exim.org/mailman/listinfo/exim-dev Exim details at http://www.exim.org/ ##
