Bug ID: 3150 Summary: Documentation indicates info can be built, but texinfo is not provided on ftp servers Product: Exim Version: 4.98 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: NEW Severity: bug Priority: medium Component: Documentation Assignee: unalloca...@exim.org Reporter: eik...@zacchae.us CC: exim-dev@lists.exim.org I'm trying to update the version of exim packaged in Guix to include exim documentation in the `info' format. Looking at exim4 spec.txt section "4.17 Installing info documentation", it seems I can build info docs by ensuring the texinfo is found in INFO_DIRECTORY (set inLocal/Makefile). Section "1.5 Where to find the Exim distribution" indicates that I can get the texinfo from https://ftp.exim.org/pub/exim/exim4. However, it doesn't seem to be included there. I see it is present in https://ftp.exim.org/pub/exim/exim3/. I'm not sure if this is fundamentally a bug in infrastructure (why is it not producing texinfo files?) or in the documentation (the documentation should indicate that building info files in no longer supported). Regardless of fundamentals, the documentation is wrong, which lives in the source tree, so it is currently a bug in exim, so I'll report it here. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. -- ## subscription configuration (requires account): ## https://lists.exim.org/mailman3/postorius/lists/exim-dev.lists.exim.org/ ## unsubscribe (doesn't require an account): ## exim-dev-unsubscr...@lists.exim.org ## Exim details at http://www.exim.org/ ## Please use the Wiki with this list - http://wiki.exim.org/
