Like I mentioned previously, add "port=587" to the SMTP transport used by your smarthost router. It would probably be a good idea to copy your existing SMTP transport, and make a special smtp_587 transport for the smarthost router, in case you have any messages routed by SMTP to hosts other than the smarthost over the standard port 25.
