What about a Gigabyte i-RAM?  It has a maximum size of 4GB, but that's a 
big e-mail queue...

It uses DDR RAM, has a 16-hour backup battery and connects to a SATA 
port.  Because of that it is limited to 150MB/sec, but it does have a 
0.1ms seek time.
