FYI: Yulia, I live in amazingly nice apartment, which I am renting for a mere
$600. No, that is not "over MKAD" at ll, that is nice 1905 st. area, close to
the park. No, I did not search 3-4 months for it... :)
Nick,
Yulia's problem is that she is "on another side of barricade" ;-)
Obviously, her objective to lease the apt. at the highest rate possible... and
obviously people who are leasing would have quite different real state market
experience from people who are renting. Simple as that.
Dear Nick,
After lending aparts here for 11 years, i got to know the real estate market
very well)) And... there is no insult in my reply, provided you have an
edecuate mindset.
U can be "clever" and lucky to get "siprisingly" nice 1 room apart for 1.5k
after 3-4 months search, but inflation and other factors will make it 2K very
soon.
You know yourself that all prices here are unreasonable. I remember you were
selling your car at a rather high price.
Cheers,
Yulia

Ha-ha-ha.....For 1.5K you could rent a 2room apart overlooking MKAD and
it will look like a tribe of gypsies have lived there....2 stops from
Novy arbat for 1.5K seems nonsence...

Yulia,
Just because you don't know the real-estate market, don't insult someone else
please.
If you are clever and a bit lucky, you can get somewhere surprisingly nice for
$1.5k. I know this for a fact.
It might be more difficult without an agency but it's more than possible.

Olga,
I saw your post on Expat list about renting a place for $1500 max.
I don't think you should believe someone's words that it's impossible to find a
place near the center for this price. I guess it is possible, but only if you
are Russian. I'm really surprised that normal prices for expats are well above
1000 Euro, for example I know a person who is renting a 2-room flat for 1200
Euro near the station "1905 goda" and he claims it is cheap!
I'm renting a place myself, but for less money as I share 1-room flat with
another girl.

Dear expats:
I am looking for an apartment in Moscow Center (not more than one-two metro
stops from Novii Arbat as the farthest location; slightly beyond Sadovoe Kolzo
is fine).
I have been looking for about a week now, nothing striking/good so far. Any
good names or good agents you can advice upon for a quick hunt? Anyone is
leaving and/or renting the apartment for at least a year?!
What is needed: no babushka's apartments, could be a nice efficiency or 1b/r;
2 b/room if shared with someone (young professional, nice and clean; a female
or male does not really matter in this regard; female would be a plus); not
more than 1,5K/month; rental agt/contract is a must.
Other than that, all other advices are highly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Olga

Kirill,
do you still need translators from English into Russian? I'd like to try.

Hey everyone,
I'm native Russian, just graduated from the Linguistic Uni in Moscow.
I speak fluent French, so if anyone is interested in learning it, please post
me.
If there is a French-speaking person, who would like to improve his/her
Russian, you are welcome as well.
Regards,
Ryabenko Elena

Yeah, this could be big here among the New Russians. Contact the offices of
cosmetics stores like Arbat Prestizh and L'Etual. I think that Yves Rocher
has the right market too, but they only sell their own products, if I'm
informed correctly.
I have no personal contacts to offer. Sorry.
