Simone:
Whatever you imagine, you are incorrect.

The correct information about US visas is clearly posted on the US Embassy
Moscow website . Just do a Google search on US Embassy Moscow it will be
the first hit (moscow.usembassy.gov/). And there is a complete version in
Russian (moscow.usembassy.gov/consular/consularr.php?record_id=nivtypes). I
suggest you try to find the websites of Russian consulates in other
countries as easily I doubt you will find many.

Just to correct your complete misunderstanding of the US visa regime in
Moscow.
1. Standard US travel visas are issued for one year, multi-entry. They are
called Tourist and Business Visas.
2. Invitations to travel to the US do not need to be notarized, or approved
by the Department of State or any other government entity.
3. Business travellers may come and go as they like. They may not hold
employment without a green card but can attend to their business affairs.
4. There is no travel insurance requirement.
5. There is no HIV (SPID) test requirement.
6. The cost of a one-year, multi-entry visa is $100.
7. The procedure very straight forward, and completely clear on the website.
Y ou submit application and schedule an appointment for a time for an
interview no waiting in line for hours.
8. Once you are interviewed, you receive approval (or not in some cases - if
you are a young, single girl and come dressed like a hooker, or a young guy
dressed like a street thug, or if you try to mislead or lie to the consular
officer who interviews you, you might have a problem.)
9. If renewing a visa within one year of expiry, no interview is necessary,
meaning a faster turnaround time.
10. After the first year, a two-year visa may be granted for an additional
payment of $100 (total cost $200 for two year visa).
