1. medical - for over a decade, i have been a huge fan of the italian medical center on starii arbat, reasonable prices, and there is always someone on hand
2. insurance - there are always a couple of trucks with insurers packed near the major consulates, I think the Dutch one is near Novoslobodskaya and there are always 2 or 3 vans parked there (it's right down the street from the local Raiffeisen Bank... don't get me started). 3. visas - OK, I don't know the folks involved, but semantically, the proposition sounds very screwy. normally, it takes 21 BUSINESS days, for example my visa did, but these folks can do it in a few hours or even a few days. Statistically, it's... hmm... let me try a different tack: No matter how a person gets a phony visa or registration stamp into their passport, they are legally answerable. Lots of people do have phony (painted - aka lipovaya) visas and registration stamps, and nothing happens to them. My advice would be to check with FMS, whether you have a valid visa or just a pretty picture. All visas are registered, and they should be able to tell you virtually immediately. It is one of those cases where you really are not better off not knowing. As to two passports. 1. Yes, you need the one with the RF visa to enter/leave Russia. 2. But, if you have the second one, you can give it to the, oh I dunno... the Vietnam embassy for a month to process, while continuing to travel normally with your main passport. Please note, most embassied in the RF require A passport, not necessarily the passport with the visas to/from Russia. Historically, they have (at most) asked for a xerox of the RF visa, as they are all registered and easy to check.
