I have just been through this 21 day game Im also a Brit, and yes you can get a second passport (with a letter of support from your company) I also have 2 passports. However im not sure how useful it will be to you, once you travel in on a temp visa and surrender this one for the new visa (which you have to do otherwise they cant understand how you got here), your other passport that doesn't have a visa is no use in Russia, as you cant travel internally on planes or trains with out a valid visa (yes we did check) and you cant easily leave Russia on a passport without a visa unless you wish to upset them, which is not a good idea if you want to come back. So best advice do what I did and accept your can only travel around by car for 3 weeks
