Nick,

My mother, bless her soul, always said: " Never spoil the help."
Inspite of that, we too spoil...however, we do draw the line. When our
twice-a-week
maid asked for 'holiday' pay this summer we said, "Whaaaa?" After that, we said
NO.

She's now leaving us after three years with a so-so excuse--her granddaughter is
having trouble at school....(so?)

Machiavelli, as with most managerial problems, has the remedy: Fear works
better than Love.
...don't mention it-

Peter

Cleaner neededTo: [email protected]

Well, when she came she was obviously more of a "home helper" than a cleaner
but we gave her a chance. She wanted 1000 per visit (about 4 to 5 hours per
time) although our previous cleaner was on 750 per visit. She couldn't iron,
couldn't clean and left some things dirtier than before. She even used Domestos
mixed with water to clean the wooden floor even though I bought special liquid
for these floors and showed her how it works. One thing that made me laugh
though was that for the 4 weeks she called me Sunny and my dog Nick!!!Anyway,
we liked her personally as she wanted to learn so we helped her and were
patient. Three weeks ago she asked for a loan of 6000 rubles which, from
experience, I know means nothing but good will come......but gave it to her
anyway. She then tells me 3 weeks later that a Russian family are going to pay
her more and that she's leaving. We gave her bonuses when she did well, loads of
womens designer clothes that were almost new and always treated her well (as
one should!).The only other reason that I can think she would want to leave is
that I'm home a lot and that means she can't sneak out early. Anyway....she's
gone and we need someone reliable/honest who's not going leave in 3 or 4
months.Regards,Nick

wait, this is a troll, right? you can't seriously expect anyone to give you
recommendations after a note like this?(or am i just too sober to get the
sarcasm?)

My bloody cleaner is leaving as she's been offered more money by some
Russians. When she started she was useless but she's improved a lot over the
past 4 months. Now she's leaving....but of course after borrowing money
first!!!!If anyone can recommend a loyal and honest cleaner, I would be
grateful. We pay 1000 rubles per visit - twice a week - and about 4-5 hours per
time. Regards,Nick_______________________________________________Expat mailing
