Dear Jeffrey,
Last week I read a very interesting article in The Moscow Times saying that the economic decline in Russia of about 58% is mainly caused by structural problems of Russia's government. America's contribution to the decline of 58% is only 17%. I think you better keep your money in a foreign bank instead of a Russian bank. However, I am not an economically person and I am here fulltime just since 2 years so if anyone on the list can give a proper advise I think it would be highly appreciated. Bank Deposits (jeffrey wilgus) First of all, I would ask: Is anyone worried about their American bank? The "great ruler" of world is responsible of the current situation. Thanks a lot, guys! Therefore I will try to keep my deposits far away from CITI or any other American bank L Here you can find the current offers but nobody knows really how save will be your money here in Russia - or elsewhere in the world. http://www.banki.ru/products/deposits/ Date: Fri, 3 Oct 2008 23:02:20 +0000 From: jeffrey wilgus <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Expat List Bank Deposits To: <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Is anyone worried about their Russian bank collapsing and your losing money? I was here in 1998 when about the only bank that didn't go out of business and stiff their clients was Bank of Austria which is now Unicredit. How would you rate the major banks for safety?
