An Italian friend of mine is looking for an apartment in the embassy area close to Kievskaya station. Does anybody has some leads? Even brokers are welcomed. Just contact me off the list and I'll hook you up.

I am currently looking for an SSAT study guide in Moscow. Seems nobody sells them here, and international shipping rates are atrocious... Does anyone have an SSAT study book that I can buy/borrow until December 13th, or does anyone know where I can buy one? I would be more than happy to pick it up if you have an unused one lying around somewhere... TIme is of the essence - feel free to email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks! ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Sat, 29 Nov 2008 17:47:16 -0800 (PST) From: Christine <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Expat List Re: Moscow v. the other city! I think that some of y'all really pointed out a few things I hadn't considered that should help me make my choice! I look forward to (maybe) meeting some of you if and when I choose Moscow! Christine P.S. The other city (for those who asked) is Bratislava. ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Mon, 1 Dec 2008 02:06:28 -0900 From: Michael Cordy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: RE: Expat List help??? (Bad Neighborhoods) Expat Digest, Vol 49, Issue 38 To: <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Christine mentions bad neighborhoods. Does anyone know of any bad neighborhoods in Moscow? Granted the city as a whole is less safe then cities like Tokyo or Helsinki, but I am not aware of any specific neighborhoods that are significantly more dangerous then others such as it is in many US cities. I lived in the Washington DC area for some time and there are clearly areas that are best to avoid at night or even in the daytime for that matter. I think it would be interesting to hear from any other people on the list if they have heard that there are 'dangerous neighborhoods in Moscow" or if not so dangerous maybe a bit more dangerous then others? Hi Expats- I have been offered 2 jobs and am currently trying to decide between them! One is in Moscow and the other is elsewhere! They both pay about the sameand include the same types of benefits (free apartment, discount on languagelessons...etc) as they are actually with the same company! The onlydifference is the location...Moscow or another city in Europe. I don't know much about Moscow today...(I have a limited historicalperspective from history class a million years ago)! Can anyone provide meany insights to help me decide? and possibly give me a comparison on safetyto some other major cities in the world? I have heard it is kind of likeNew York or Chicago - there is crime, but if you use the normal precautions(ie don't visit bad neighborhoods at night alone) you should be ok? Thanks! I am planning to visit Rome with a couple of friends next spring. We would like to rent out an apartment during our 2-week stay rather than a hotel in order to enjoy the city as if we were living there:) If you have some tips of where to start, that would be great!
