I know that with residency you can, but highly doubt you can do this with a visa.
A visa is "an addition" to your passport, so changing the passport would essentially be removing the foundation of the visa. Talk to your local FMS official and ask. It is possible they can do something for you. ^Bernie Bernard Jacobsen Micro Rayon Severnoe Chertanovo Moscow Russia +7 (903) 700-3255 _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jared Barol Sent: Tuesday, May 07, 2013 11:56 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Expat List Is it possible to get a new passport while maintaining the same visa? (And how) My current visa is valid for another 2 years, but the passport is in such poor condition that it must be replaced. Does anyone have experience with this situation? How can the passport (USA) be replaced without loosing the visa?
