I upgraded to all of the packages listed on the Mandrake mini how-to.
These are the problems with the mandrake kernel 2.2.3 rpm upgrade:

1. Dhcp fails on eth0. It worked fine until I did the upgrade. One
of the rpms must change something about dhcp.

2. I can not compile a new kernel. Make boot fails. It errors out with
something about unreferenced pointers to fbcon.

Any ideas:)

I am able to run my back up install of Mandrake on the same computer
without a problem (2.0.36). Eth0 works perfect.
