Hey does anybody know the trick to get a cranky sound card to function??
I upgraded from th 2.0.36 to the 2.2.5 kernel(using rpms) and have been
unable to get sndconfig to work. When linux boots the error I get is
"module failed too many dma's" .Under the 2.0.36 kernel sndconfig would
work well enough that I could play cd's but not mp3's or wav files. I
downloaded the oss open sound system sound driver from
http://www.4front-tech.com/ . The program is not free but you can download
a free trial version of it. I installed it but I can't get it to work . I
think part of the problem is that my computer is a laptop. Has anybody
tried the oss program ?
Any ideas that might help?
