Try to take a look at the xf86 documentation!
I had the same problems during our Installation-Party last weekend with
the same AGP-VGA-Card (SiS 6326/8M).
Solution:
1. do not use XF86Setup! Use xf86config
2. comment out all resolutions that are not supported by XF86 and the
SiS-Chipset (/usr/doc/xf86/README.SiS)

I got a running system with 24-bit colour-depth only.
