Hi,
I just upgraded two machines running Mandrake 5.3 to kernel 2.2.9. One
of the machines has a single p166 and is running a up kernel, and the
other machine has dual pii 333s and is running an smp kernel. I
downloaded the netscape 4.6 tar.gz from the netscape site and installed
in on both machines. netscape 4.6 is running fine on the up machine,
but it has serious problems on the smp machine. On the smp machine, I
can start netscape 4.6, and the netscape home page comes up. But then,
if I click anywhere in the browser window, the entire screen locks up.
I can't access any other windows, or even other desktops. I have to
telnet to the smp machine from the up machine, and issue a kill -9 to
stop netscape. Before this upgrade, both machines were running kernel
2.2.6 and netscape 4.08 fine. Also, netscape 4.6 has the same problems
running on my smp machine under kernel 2.2.6. Has anyone else seen
problems with netscape 4.6 on smp machines? And where can I get an rpm
for netscape 4.6? Thanks,
