heh.... 15 mins later, i answered all my own questions... you can tell why I
don't post that much, eh? heh.

for the record;
question #1 is that tkdesk is a manager, but not a
window manager, per se... have to have a "real" windowmanager to handle (guess
what?!?) windows... fire up twm or enlightenment (just the manager portion,
which i have left over from a bad install of it... heh...)
and #2...
anything can be started with 
filename#1 &
filename#2
just makes the other command wait in the background, letting both load just
peachy... 

OK, gonna go watch a movie now, too damn much hacking for one day.
